HANNAH SCHMIDT

Interior Designer

My story

I have always loved the arts and bringing beauty into spaces, whether through aesthetics or music. I also love playing and writing music alone in front of the piano or with my guitar.

RHODRIC BOND

My story

My love of building came at a young age. My parents thought I’d take to kayaking or highland dance, but I knew my path after they let me remodel the bathroom in our family home. Since then, I have had five years of general construction experience and six years of residential remodeling experience with no intention of stopping.

My favorite things

Spending time with my family is the greatest. I also enjoy a good bourbon, perfecting my dad jokes, and have aspirations of summiting Mt. Rainier one day. In my free time, I like to create awesome projects in my woodworking shop.

What I love about my job

I love creating beautiful spaces for people to share with their families and friends. I love working with my hands because it allows me to see the finished product form from start to finish.

Marketing Director

My story

Since getting my degree in Technical Communication, I’ve been drawn to occupations that have pushed me to continually refine my ability to communicate effectively in a way that connects people to important ideas and to each other. In my work, I am inspired by a quote from Seth Godin: “Marketing is the change we make in the world by telling true stories and helping people get where they want to go.”

My favorite things

I love learning about new concepts and ideas, especially in the subjects of spirituality and philosophy. I also enjoy playing video games online with friends, rock music, playing sports like golf and tennis, and laughing. And of course I love spending quality time with my wife and two daughters!

There’s something very special about working at a place where everyone takes great pride in what they are creating. That is definitely the case at Wren & Willow. Also, knowing that every project requires the diverse skillsets of our team to work together gives me a feeling of teamwork that is truly gratifying.

ALICIA GUTIERREZ

Client Coordinator

My story

I was born and raised in Tacoma and met my husband Nathaniel in college. I worked for several years as an administrator for a non-profit organization and did marketing and event planning for an author. After we had been married for 6 years and had 2 small children, we moved to South America to serve as missionaries for 7 years. We recently returned, now with three children, to raise our family here in Tacoma and we are so grateful to be back home.

My favorite things

As a family we love to go on bike rides, eat at good restaurants, and go to the zoo. While in Peru, I picked up a passion for knitting and love to fill my spare time knitting while watching a movie with Nathaniel or while listening to a good audio book. When I am not working, I am also studying for my Masters in Counseling and would love to help families in crisis one day. My husband and my children fill my life with joy and I am so grateful to God for giving me such a sweet little family.

What I love about my job

As a young girl, I watched my parents work tirelessly for several years to transform their old 1928 house into a beautiful home for their family. That sparked a passion in me to make my home and space beautiful. I love being able to share with others about Wren & Willow and to explain that they too can have the beautiful home they always dreamed of. I also love working for a company that is so invested in their employees and that it feels like we are a family, not just co-workers.

ANN OWENS

Accountant

My story

I started out as a sales and marketing analyst and fell into being a bookkeeper by accident. At the time, my son was small, and I wanted to cut back on work hours. In the process I found that I loved numbers and helping businesses keep their finances in order.

My favorite things

Outside of work, I treasure my time with my husband and my son as well as my friends and extended family. I love to travel, play golf, watch football, and laugh.

Wren and Willow is a great crew to work for and with. There is a real sense of camaraderie here that is infectious.

Wren & Willow has been a part of my life since I was born. I helped build the office. My handprints are in the cement under the floors. My goal is to be the 2nd president of Wren & Willow.

My favorite things

I like to do work at the office, play with my sisters outside, and work in my garden. I like making buildings out of my toy building sets and designing buildings. I designed a house that looks like a rocket with a slide.

What I love about my job

I like working because it's fun.

BENTLEY

Chief of Security

My story

I have been with Wren & Willow for over 10 years. I started as a part-time security guard. I rose through the ranks and now I'm Chief of Security. I'm super good at this job.

My favorite things

I love food. A lot. It's pretty much all I think about. My favorite food is anything that people drop on the ground. I especially like steak. But, really anything. And dog biscuits. Though, the biscuits are kind of dry. I'd rather have steak. Are you going to finish that sandwich?

What I love about my job

I love being so good at my job. For instance, every time the mail man drops mail into the mail slot, I bark ferociously at him, and he immediately leaves. I'm really good at my job. That's why I'm Chief of Security. Can I have the rest of your sandwich please?
